How to Apply for PCSO Educational Assistance Program

PCSO recently began offering educational assistance for college students, to help pay for tuition and school expenses. The assistance is carried out in partnership with the Bagong Pilipinas eGovPH Serbisyo Hub (BPeSH), a “one-stop shop” for multiple government services.

PCSO Educational Assistance aims to help college students afford tuition and school expenses. The actual amount varies on a case-to-case basis, depending on students’ needs, PCSO’s assessment, and availability of funds. That being said, scholars have reported receiving PHP 5,000 or more, with the amount being credited directly to their school.

Eligibility

All students enrolled in any college or university in the Philippines, public or private, are eligible to apply as long as they are able to meet the requirements below.

Requirements

Students need to prepare:

• Certified true copy of Certificate of Enrollment or Registration Form;
• Photocopy of valid ID of student;
• Photocopy of valid ID of parent or guardian;
• Certified true copy of Billing Statement or Statement of Account;
• Valid Academic Transcript or Report Card from previous semester; and
• Filled out PCSO Educational Assistance Form with 2×2 picture of student.

NOTE: When filling out the application Form, students need to provide personal information, school information, and parent/guardian information. As proof of consent, the form also requires the applicant’s and parent’s/guardian’s signature.

Procedure

There are two ways to apply for PCSO Educational Assistance: (a) by going directly to the BPeSH office; or (b) via email submission.

Going to BPeSH Office

For applicants residing in Metro Manila, going directly to the BPeSH office is a good option. Before going, an online appointment is necessary. Simply follow these steps:

1. Check and make sure you have all the requirements.
2. Set an appointment using the eGovPH mobile app. Open the app, choose PCSO Educational Assistance, then follow the instructions to schedule an appointment. Save the QR code that will be provided for your visit.
3. On the scheduled date of appointment, go to the BPeSH office, which is located at the Presidential Action Center, Makabagong San Juan National Government Center, Pinaglabanan Street, San Juan City, Metro Manila.
4. Present the QR code from the eGovPH app to the Action Officer.
5. Submit all the required documents for verification.

Submission Via Email

Submitting an application via email is ideal for those who are residing outside Metro Manila. Here is a step-by-step guide for this option:

1. Prepare clear, scanned copies of all the required documents.
2. In your email, write a short letter stating your reason(s) for needing financial assistance.
3. On the subject line, type: PCSO Educational Assistance [Full Name of Applicant].
4. Attach all the requirements and send your email to: verna.soriano@pcso.gov.ph.
5. Wait for confirmation and feedback from PCSO regarding your application.
